Beds and mattresses

<OCUK>

I have a bed made from the rarest wood in the world. Cost £10K. The matress is made from maidens hair (look it up, n00b) and costs another 10K.

Only peasants would sleep on anything less.

Bed. That's personal taste really. We have a solid oak job. Same with mattresses. Some like firm ones, others like soft ones. Whatever you go with though it is worth investing in a quality one.

you aren't trying hard enough! that wouldn't even get you the entry model:

i know the owner - i could probably get you a very very tiny discount :p

I would never buy anything from Dreams, or any other big bed place to be honest, complete rip off. I'd recommend buying from smaller independent shops, as not only will you get much more for your money, but you'll get better quality.

O and ignore all the marketing rubbish about non turn mattresses, it's a huge con, and a cost cutting one at that. You want a mattress that you can flip over (double sided) not rotate, as it'll last longer.

+1 you'll get much for for your money buying from an independant. Much of the cost of a big name mattress funds the massive marketing. Did a lot of research before buying a couple of nice pocketsprung mattresses last year. Speak to those who have been in the mattress trade for a while, you'll quickly build up a picture of what is value for money and what isn't. Big name doesn't necessarily mean best.

Aisde from that, go somewhere where you're able to lie down on a few different types so you can work out whats best for you.

I'm in the market for a couple of beds (and mattresses) for a new flat, budget <£1500, guess Factory Beds Direct look the best bet? Was thinking of something like this:

One thing is I was after was storage - I can't find much information about the divan bases they supply, does anyone know? It mentions end/side drawers but I don't know how they work

I got High Groove Euphoria King Size from a small chain store. Went to the show room and tried a few before paying a bit more than my intended budget.

Don't know if I payed too much as I did not have time to shop around, got it for £899.99 including 2 drawer base - £87 discount + £29.50 delivery and it was delivered within a week.

Needless to day I get a much better sleep now so it is money well spent.
