Just had three bees appear in my lounge / kitchen, seemingly out of nowhere. How did they get in?

I think they were bees because they let me guide / lift them out of the window using some kitchen roll and didn't get aggressive. Thought they were wasps at first but had hairy bodies so assume they were masonry bees or honey bees. Presuming masonry is more likely as if there was a honey bee nest I would expect more than three??

I would be shocked if they were honey bees, I have had 12 hives about 30 ft from my house for 5+ years.

It is extremely rare that they are ever in the house, like hardly ever.

I expect they aren't bees.
Judging by how you described them, I'd say they are 100 percent queen wasps. I should know. My dad kills them for a living.

yeah, you on the money here

did it look a bit like this:

wondering, did you ever find out how they got in? if three got in. means that there must be something in the house that attracts them and more will come .

I think from memory they love sugar, but that could be just the smaller none queen ones, unless I am wrong.

I'm more intrigued by wtf did silly @Diddums do to earn yet another suspension ...

Queen wasps are easy to identify: you're only ever going to have one of two reactions to seeing one. Either abject fear or a psychopathic urge to kill. If neither of those, then its not a Queen wasp.

Probably got in via a vent, e.g. tumble dryer, cooker hood.
