BEEEEp..BEEEEEP.BEEEEEP forever...

My old mobo fried, got new mobo, PSU, case etc, plugged it all up, beeeeep beeeeeep beeeeeep. continuous long beeps, awardbios etc on motherboard.
This would point to it being a video or memory error. Iv tried two different graphics cards, and 3 sticks of ram. Always the same. Im wondering if these long beeps could also be caused by the CPU being faulty, as its getting fairly old now, and has been used loadssss. a 3500newcastle, had it since they 1st came out pretty much. and it was inside a little oven of a shuttle.
Anyway, could the memory controller on the CPU be dodgy or something? resulting in the beeeep beeeeep beeeep... etc? im really mad with the computer right now.

i believe it wouldnt beep at all if the cpu was damaged.

Traditional IBM beep-codes, usually included in most motherboards:

No Beeps Short, No power, Bad CPU/MB, Loose Peripherals
One Beep Everything is normal and Computer POSTed fine
Two Beeps POST/CMOS Error
One Long Beep, One Short Beep Motherboard Problem
One Long Beep, Two Short Beeps Video Problem
One Long Beep, Three Short Beeps Video Problem
Three Long Beeps Keyboard Error
Repeated Long Beeps Memory Error
Continuous Hi-Lo Beeps CPU Overheating

Sounds like you may have a memory issue.

tried both seperate geil 512 sticks in both sockets on motherboard =/ and a seperate 512 crucial value ram one(the geil was value too) hmm, might look at those metal seating things, maybes iv shorted something behind the ram..
it makes a high freq with no CPU, i was just wndering whether it could have been the cpus memory controller. ill go pull it all apart again..

right, i took out the mobo, screwed it all back in, booted up and screen game on, white and black artifacts everywhere, no real recognisable post. Looks like something was shorting out underneath the mobo. Anyways, basically it looks like the graphics is fried, so iv replaced with geforce fx5700(ICKY ICKY) and its working fine now, although a hell of a lot slower than when it was the x800xtpe in my shuttle.
