While im on holiday I fancy treating myself ;)

Never ever tried it but heard everyone loves this stuff what do you recommend for a 1st time buyer and from where?

I was thinking of going for the hamper from there for 30 quid: http://www.biltong.co.uk/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=9

That biltong you linked to is VERY nice.

Try find yourself some proper original South African biltong as well ;)

Love em both and am glad to say that even in the backwards hick villages of derbyshire i have 2 SA shop making fresh biltong (and wors) and a shop making fresh (as fresh as dry can be) jerky!

mmmm.... heaven. :D

Since you live in london try finding a local shop, failing that go to harrods!

Occasionally have a pack of jerky, but I doubt it's all that high quality being the supermarket packaged stuff. I quite like it though. Can't recommend Billtong as have never had it, sure I saw a program of it being the stuff SA kids cut their first teeth on though?!?

jerky is american ,biltong is south african (same stuff really tho the african stuff can be got in 2 grades 'wet' or 'dry' i prefer dry myself ,if i were you i'd buy a small pack and see if you like it first, if so then invest in a dehydrator and save yourself a load of money :) ,that what i did and make my own flavours now, my fav is garlic and chilli.

I bought that hamper from Susman's for my m8 a few weeks ago for his birthday (he's south african). It was some good stuff! He was impressed, but I was suprised how little you get.

Beef Jerky doesnt compare, its disgusting stuff.

I love jerky, I bought some from a mini mart thing in america and it was so good.
I bought some back here and it was nothing like the stuff i had in america.
