Been trying hard over the past year to get my weight down and managed to finally get myself under 13st which I haven't been since i was a teen. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and try to eat relatively healthy (and clean!) for the most part.

Had my works Xmas Do a week and a bit ago, then a meal out with friends the following day then a 7 night all inclusive holiday in Gran Canaria to top it off which I got back from on Monday night!

Checked the scales this morning and i've put on at least 11lb since my works Xmas Do :( Eeeeeeek. I did probably over indulge whilst on holiday but didnt think it would have made me tip the scales so much!

Hopefully it wont take me too long to shift it and get myself back on track and down to sub-13st. Started back on a "normal" diet yesterday and back in the gym this morning.

I didnt think it would be possible to put on 11lb in that space of time. But whats the best way to get me back on track? Just get back to a healthy diet ASAP and back in the gym as much as possible?

Don't worry, you haven't gained 11lb's of fat in less than 10 days. It'll be mostly water weight as you've probably had more sodium than you normally do which causes your body to retain water.

Drink plenty of water and weigh again in 2-3 days time.

This.

You'll easily drop 5lbs or more in a couple of days of sensible eating...so sometime in the new year :p:D

Yeah the water will drop off. However for the love of God, show some control next time :p

My Works Christmas do, I ate my colleagues salmon starter with mine, had a turkey dinner, and gave my colleague my dessert. When I go on holiday I enjoy ice cream etc, but I eat paella for dinner, and eggs on toast for brekkie. I also walk 20k steps a day on holiday. If fitness is your goal, then you should still be mindful of that whilst enjoying yourself!

Great work on holiday, but now it's time to turn those extra calories into gains! You'll shift the weight in no time, don't worry about it, a week in the grand scheme of things is nothing, as long as you don't let one week turn into two then a month and so on...

geez thats a lot of weight in such a short time, back to diet and gym you will soon get it back off.

I know! I was shocked myself when I stepped on the scale!

Great, that's reassuring that I haven't just potentially eaten away 6 months of hard work in just over a week!

Haha. Ive banned myself from cakes, biscuits, choccys etc which are in abundance in the office atm. Gonna limit my alcohol intake over Xmas too.

All inclusive just had a hold on me. Its far too easy to just go and get another plate of something and always plenty of desserts to choose from and cheeses and crackers to finish off with!

Our holidays are usually very active to be fair walking around cities and towns exploring but this was a sit around the pool all day holiday which im not a fan of really. We normally walk at least 15k+ steps a day when on city breaks but lounging about all day meant we didn't get out much!

Haha I enjoyed myself at least!

Back in the gym every day now, diet is back to normal and drinking plenty of water! Lets see how long it takes me to get down to my weight of 2 weeks ago, haha!

It's alright mate I plan on putting on a stone and a half over the next week, will take a week or so to lose it as most of it's going to be water.
