Hey,

I need help with door linings, which size do I need for 38 x 89 stud work with 12.5 plasterboard and 3mm skim?

125mm x32mm is the closest.

89+31= 120mm

115mm is too small.

You can find 120mmx 27mm (finished size) if you hunt around, but I just use some off the shelf 125mm x32mm from TP, & adjusted the skim when I put a doorway in here.

Funny things door linings Macca, different brands, different finish sizes, I had them from 27mm & up to 38mm thickness, & the width has been just as bad.

Just got a new lining for the outside toilet, & the wall is 100mm single block, picked up a lining set on my travels & it 's said 108mm width, nearer to 103mm I say, totally useless as I was going to skim the wall.

The architect here messed up the total thickness of the build up of the walls when drawing up his door schedule, I assume he assumed skim coat when we are T&J, so every lining is 5mm too big.

I would look at a door with a width of 762mm (30") minimum & standard height: 1981mm (78").

Any narrower & it can be difficult to get furniture through.
