New to this site and found it very good already so thanks.

So as you can see from my sig ,my rig is now ancient. 2007 was a good year!

I have a computer room again and want to update and play some games Witcher 3, battlefront, Elite but heck my rig don't run nothing anymore.

I reckon the only salvageable bits are the 500Gb SSD, HDD and the DVD RW.

I was thinking something on the lines of

will need a case that it will fit in, nothing fancy, as it sits under the desk and a PSU, also is the water cooling overkill? have always OC'd CPU and thought I might need it.

If you can see any way to shave a few pounds off the price that would not go amiss either as I have been looking at those gaming chairs;)

thanks

Hi and welcome to the forums :)

Firstly, dump the thermal compound - not needed.

Secondly, there's really no point in spending £30 more on a GPU for a mild overclock that you could achieve yourself.

Thirdly, that AIO won't cool any better than a good air cooler. AIOs can be good but you need to spend a bit more to get a decent overclock. The Matterhorn black is an excellent cooler.

I've added a 550w PSU from Superflower. You could spend a bit more on an EVGA GS if you prefer modular. The case is a subjective choice. If you'd prefer a simpler design with no window then you could save a few quid. I've also added a 6600K bundle as it's only a few quid more than the components you've listed but the 'K' series is a quicker CPU at stock and will be easy to overclock
