hi guys.
it's been a while since i last upgraded my windows but i'm nearly ready to
go from xp to vista.
gonna do a fresh install but can't remember how to do the dos box things to format my c:/ drive. i don't have a floppy drive.
any help appreciated.

regards

You will be given an option to format your drive when you boot up from the Vista CD. Just read each screen carefully and pick the right options.

cool. i have one drive partitioned into c and d. i guess it'll let me choose which one to format. dont want to loose data on D.

god damn it.
i can't get any vista drivers for my printer.
could i install vista on my d drive and still keep the data on it.
in other words dual boot with xp on my c drive.
bear in mind i have one partitioned drive.

Hi mate, what printer is it?

hey fella. it's a hp photosmart 1315.
i've checked their webby and they say they have no intention of releasing
vista drivers for older merchandise.
don't suppose a different driver would work would it?

Yea I would defiantly try the XP driver, sometimes they work :D If this doesn’t do the trick I guess you are out of luck :( looks like a decent printer. I’ve had a quick luck and no Vista support HP can be shocking on the driver front sometimes.

Have a try at this mate,

Use HP Deskjet 990C driver. It works perfectly. This driver is built-in Vista. All you have to do is to
1. Add new printer
2. Select HP Deskjet 990C when it prompts for you to select the printer.
