Whos top dog and whats the best video card i can get my hands on within 2 weeks? Decided to build up a new rig and this is the only place i've found some difficulty, i'm still using a 1900XTX 512Mb card for every day gaming. have built a few pcs with 9800 cards but it seems Ati/AMD are doing something right these days?

What are the rest of the specs of the system ? resolution ? how much are you willing to spend?

What level of details do you want in the game ?

No top price, can spend as much as it takes. Gaming on a 24 inch Dell E248WFP. Rest of the system is a Q9450 (not o'ced as yet but likely 3.5Ghz+) looking at 8Gb for RAM with Vista ultimate, haven't got the mobo yet still looking. Will have 6 1Tb and a Velicoraptor as a boot drive.

1920*1200 gaming requires a little bit of ooomph......perhaps your budget needs to stretch to allow this resolution with eye-candy all on.....or maybe a 8800GTX for now and then trade-up to the next-gen stuff due in a month ?

Would be wary of spending too much with the new cards literally just around the corner...if nothig else, the current crop will be getting sold of cheaply to accomodate.....both new and in MM

Point taken, been reading a bit and it looks like in a short time there'll be much better to justify the wait. Will hold off a few weeks and use the 1900 with my Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz as it does a reasonable job still. Got the Q9450 for free from a mate for installing his oven and a CCTV system ( )
