For those who may be interested...
After waiting a while for everything to arrive I spent a few hours today sticking it all on. I put the Samco hoses on earlier in the week but after a stupid slip, I had to fix the hole I put in my radiator before doing anything else. I also realised I needed a chain breaker which I completely forgot about so after digging deep (again) I forked out for a goodun.
The first job was to remove the dead old chain and sprockets and replace them with Renthal bits. The new rear sprocket is at least half the weight of the original! I think the colour combination is a lot more fitting too.
The next job was to replace the crap front brake hose with a new HEL braided stainless steel line. I wasn't 100% sure about the colour combo I went for but it's growing on me. Blue line with red banjos.
I dunno WTF happened here. One minute the bike was solid on the stand, the next it was on the ground and this is the result...
I tried the free Renthal stickers on the front fork guards but they'll be coming off again. I hate them The rest of the bike needs a good clean which I will do when the rain holds off.
So, next on the agenda is..... I haven't a clue. I have thought about pulling the engine out, rebuilding it with a 470 big bore kit, more agressive cams, new carb and all that jazz but it's a lot of money. I'm also toying with the idea of selling the bike and getting something a bit more focused but in the meantime I think I'll just enjoy it as it is.
BTW, if you haven't got braided brake lines on your bike, DO IT! The difference is amazing!
Anyone got any suggestions of anything else I could do to it?
