Currently i have it set to 70% with a 630core950memory
dont want to push it becuse as it currently is in CSS temps get as high as 76c load and 60c idle

when the fan is at 100% its 55c idle 68c load but erm
how long do these fans last lol

i wouldnt trust me on this one because im only takeing a guess. But i would have thought a long time i would have thought, even at those constant speeds. I wouldnt worry much, and im sure if there was a fail somewhere down the line, there would be a easy replacement from nvidia (or who ever you bought it from) thanks to the 3yr warrenty.

Dont think my card has a 3 year warantee, infact im unknown what kind of warantee my card has manufacterer wize...
but i do know it has 1 year from the store i bought it *XpertVision*

hmmm guess the card should be fine then running at say 85% or 90%

if you can live with the nosie then run the fan at 100% it won;t make much difference to its life. and in a few years time you will probably buy a new cooler which has been developed to provide even better cooling with larger slower fan.

thanks guys.

Ok i have a new question ?
with GTX being new tech ect.

Can anyone tell me how to run the card in overclocked and high fan in 3dmode only and run the card at default clocks with default fans speeds in 2dmode.

Im unsure if these cards even have 2d or 3d or combined where any clock is the same no matter if in 2d or 3d..

you see would be sweeter if the card ran default for me in 2dmode for stuff like movies and browsing ect ect and when entering anything 3d it would auto overclock and auto fanspeed the card at the same time..

is this even possible on GTX cards, i know for a fact this works on ATI cards but unsure on NVIDIA cards.

Hi. i have my GTS on 650/2000 and manually set the fan speed. I leave it at about 60% when running in normal windows, then when i'm about to games i change it to between 80-90% depending on the game im gonna play. The fan is audible at that speed but when you're shooting people through the head in F.E.A.R. u don't really notice it at all!

As for the 2nd q, i don't think there's anything around at the moment that will let you set that. RivaTuner has the options, but i have found the current version has not control over fan speed at all. I tried it and got artifacts and complete system hang within a few mins.

Give it a while and RT will catch up with the drivers and start working as nicely as it always has, but at the mo i think you're gonna have to do it all manually.

Actually, i just checked Systool and my clocks in 2d are normal for the core, only the mem is oc'd. but 3d clocks are all oc'd so it looks like the 2d clock stays the same anyway.

I leave it on auto for windows and it hovers around 50c clocked at 650/2000. For games , especially need for speed carbon I run the fan at 100%. That game heats the card up like no other. I get mid 60's with nfsc and the fan at 100% which is fine with me. 650/2000 is a high o/c and I am shocked it even works.
