I have been out of the loop when it has come to PC hardware and stuff and I am looking into setting up a Gaming PC for a ball park figure of £800.

Is there anyone that could help me with parts list for the best compatibility and a lil future proof.

Also what parts do you need? Case, OS, monitor, keybard/mouse, speakers/headset, all internals (CPU, RAM, mobo, SSD etc)

Compatibility is pretty straight forward. Main things are make sure the gpu fits in the case and the ram doesn't interfere with the cpu cooler. If you buy a cpu thats socket 1151 you'll need a motherboard that supports 1151 cpus.

What kind of games are you looking to run? Is a monitor required? Regardless, £800 can buy you a decent setup.

I have peripherals already so just the tower and components are needed for now.

I'm probably going to look at building it rather than have a prebuilt.

I'm looking at playing a variety of steam games ect maybe even battlefield 1 ect.

You could upgrade to an OC i5, but likely that will drive costs up by at least £50 (for CPU + better mobo + CPU cooler). Can't say it would be all that worth it, but it's something to consider. Personally, I'd rather invest that money into a 500gb SSD and a different case before I'd go bigger with the CPU.
