been out of the loop a while, am i safe to invest in x99 now ?

maybe a bit of a stupid question as i appreciate tech evolves and something is always around the corner, but, im going to be building an x99 build in the next week or so but i havent been in the loop about any of the skylake or broadwell processors. is there anything due soon that would give me buyers remorse on choosing a 5820k ?

I think the ever impending process shrink but that's still a way off, can't see much in the near future to destroy that CPU.

Apart from the process shrink there's nothing to come you havnt got support for with x99 , the 5820k and above will still be superior then skylake for multi threaded applications .
