Operating system, mouse, keyboard?

Looks fine though, although I'd always prefer a very cheap graphics card over an integrated solution.

edit: you used to spec hundreds of machines in GH, I remember now. :p

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply

Completely forgot about a mouse and keyboard!

As for an OS, we recently bought a batch of 10 XP licenses and have some left so we don't need one for it :)

Good point about the graphics card but as it's just basic office use (and all of our other PCs have integrated graphics apart from the CAD PC) it should be OK

Yeah - that's a good idea

Her current PC is an ancient P4 2GHz with 256MB of ram which is slowly dieing!

We recently had to upgrade Sage due to support ending on our old version and the new version is a lot slower

go get a off the shelf system,

I'm getting £345 for a whole system with 3 years next day business support. This is important for work systems, as you will have to support the above if anything goes wrong!! and if you have to RMA anything it could be weeks before you get the system up and running. also think about the time it will take

that's box, monitor, keyboard mouse. XP Pro.

and the spec is just as good as above, you cant beet dell for cheep systems!

£200 who cares, that is solid stuff as well.

if you must buy business support then that can be had for less than £150 - (compared to dells)

and tbh its a cheap office system not a big mainframe.

so far £154.94 ex vat,

OS = £89.29 OEM
monitor = £91.99
Keyboard + mouse = £14

new total = £350.22

£345 for my option....

if i told you its £109 for just a box and 1 year warranty, would that make a difference? ;)

They do do good cheap deals but we meant to order the PC sooner as we really need it next week

That means self build or off the shelf really - thanks for the suggestions though

the £345 dells are consumer prices, with consumer warranties, as soon as you start looking at business consumers the price inc warrenty will not be £345.

i.e. bt adsl @ 8mbits = £15 p/m, business bt adsl @2mb = £30 (at least)

no that the business price with 3 years next day world wide warranty. ex vat.

I didn't just make that figure up, look on there website

the only discount we get is free delivery, and XP pro for an extra £10. £345 was is the full price.

The broadband is more as most company's require a static IP address. they also we have better support options
