I bit my tongue and bought FF: CC even though they've dishonoured themselves by moving to Sony. The game is well presented and the musical scores are wonderfull. I think I will likely finish it.

The only down side is it's very repetitive I'm finding having to go back to levels and do them over and over is a little boring. Oh well it could have been worse they could have used that crap turnbased combat they like so much.

I cant stand the turn based combat of the ff games, i think it was always the reason i couldnt get into ff7 or paper mario :( , I much prefer the real time combat of the Tales Of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss.

I know what you mean, I love the FF games but still, i'd take a combat system like Kingdom Heart's any day. I like games where you level your characters up and can have stats and all that but at the same time have a real time combat system which isn't completely dependant on luck and percentages.

lol what year are u living in? they moved to sony years ago! now they are moving back, hence CC, and also FF3 on DS...

Final Fantasy 3 on the DS is brilliant, and could potentially mean a lot for the DS, what with a final fantasy engine in place that would suit the playstation one series of games brilliantly for a handheld.. don't hold your breath tho :)

I'm also loving FFIII on the DS....Playing it more than FFIX (which I aint played for more than 1 hour).

Got a 6 hour round trip to London next week via train, much FFIII goodness :D.

I wouldn't say they are moving back to Nintendo. The main FF releases are still going to be on Playstation. They are just releasing games that play on each console's strengths rather than picking a hardware company and sticking to them. The main series is very cinematic and it's easy to see the Wii wouldn't really excel in that sense compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360. A main series game wouldn't really make use of the Wii's features, but I think it's quite likely we'll see some kind of spin off on the Wii.

I think at the end of the day square enix will go were ever the money is just look at Dragon quest 9 comming to the DS.

I also here a 3d remake of ff4 is coming out for the DS

I think FF7, 8, 9, 10,11 Should be done up and re-released on the Wii. On Nintendo console where they belong. :P To think how they built up a FF fan base with Nintendo gamers then betrayed them all by moving to Sony Disgusts me.

The psone was the better console for the titles at the time in the eyes of square.. cd's allowing use amounts of data for lower prices?

After playing DQ8 on PS2 I can see that the DS is a good fit for that series. It's cartoony style will go well on the DS, although it does seem odd to put such a main game from such a big franchise on a handheld.

Playing CC on your own ! The boredom!

I have an elite bunch of adventurer's that play with me. 4 player ll the way, we have a special affinity for shouting "Get the pot!"

You wont appreciate that playing single player but the pot thing is a pain in the ass.

Get over it. Plenty of people who owned played FF on Nintendo consoles went and bought Playstations. I bet they didn't feel betrayed. They managed to build up a huge fanbase with Playstation gamers but that doesn't mean all those people want FF to stay exclusive to Sony. I for one would love it if FFXIII came out on Xbox 360 because I already have one. Most people don't have this silly loyalty to console manufacturers and simply buy the console that has the most games they want.

Are you on crack? 11 should be removed from time!

Apart from a number of licensing issues causing a fallout between Square and Nintendo whilst FFVII was in development (there's a tech demo for N64 floating about somewhere), the main reason was down to capacity. Final Fantasy VII filled 2 and half 650mb CDs. Can you imagine trying to put that kind of a game onto cartridge?

If Square had stayed with Nintendo, chances are we would not have ever received FFVII over here. Production costs are much MUCH higher (in terms of media) with cartridge based games. Sony took a calculated risk releasing VII in Europe, Nintendo would not have bothered... you just have to look at some of Square's more 'out there' releases that we've never received in Europe, Nintendo didn't bother with the first 6, why would they with VII?... Ehrgeiz, FF Tactics, Chocobo Mysterious Dungeon, Racer etc etc etc.
