Been refused a student loan.

Ask your parents to help you with money for travel. Even though they don't earn much I am sure they can give you £20 p/m towards your education.

If they refuse then get new parents (joking here).

Become a drug donkey for drug lords, might end up in a dirty prison in the middle of Mexico but I heard the money was alright and they pay travel expenses

weekly/monthly/annual bus pass? you'll usually be able to get one that runs the length of the school term, so you're not paying for it when you don't need to.

How far away do you live from your college?

What provider do you mean? the SLC?

You're currently £18/m short, you're after a loan of less than £200, a student loan is not what you want. Manage your money better, or get a job. Oh, and take packed lunch.

Anyone know of a good company that will fund education no matter what college/country/course etcetc?

Aye lad! See!

Jesus H Christ.....

I havn't had a job since I started college (Was working full time before it) but am currently trying to get as many jobs as possible!

Ive been surviving off small change given to me by parents and my dear old Gdads £20 pocket money :p

It's not hard, some of the retards on my course say "Oh I can't get a job, dont have the skills, my mum would lose benefits!"

I want to attack them, apart from the above, I get nothing for free!

Grrrrrr, kids these days! :p

My bank are taking my student overdraft away on the 1st of december I have only been a student 4 months. instantly 1000 in red. You could be worse off :P

Yeah, you could have graduated over 4 years ago, and still have your crummy £2k graduate overdraft, like me :(

I have put my foot down, that will be gone in 4 months, however I am using the method of putting £500 a side each month to give to someone, then paying a lump sum of £2000 in to my ex graduate account to clear the overdraft.

Although I had plenty of jobs when I was in college/uni, I regret getting out the loan/overdrafts

i'm baffled as to why you're expecting money for your travel costs to be honest?

The only thing I can expect that may be 'funded' is a dedicated college bus or something? But petrol?

It was 15-16 years ago, started on £1.96 IIRC :D

You would have to work full time hours (40 hours) to make £78 a week, and thats before tax (if you were taxed)

Part time hours (20 hours) your looking at £39

Thats dedication :D

I did 12 hours (full day Saturday & 2 nights), was enough to take me out every weekend at the time!
