Been refused a student loan.

Hmm, if you can't find a part time job; i.e. Paper Round, Pub, Waiter, Sainsburys, Tescos etc. see if your Parents can help, avoid getting a Loan at all costs; this will put you in an even bigger rut.

Edit: Or see if you can get a interest free overdraft from your Bank.

Loan requests and refusals can count against you, because they leave a trail on your Credit Report.

I used to have 3 paper rounds when I was in school at 13 when no one would give you a job, done 2 rounds before school, one after school, then moved on a fruit and veg shop when I was 15/16, then moved on to a Marriott hotel working in Conference & Banqueting when I was 16/17/18

Get a push bike, I use to cycle to college 4 miles from home to college, guess what it was free, who is paying your insurance, mot, tax, for your bike?

A job is needed, I use to work 6-2 Saturday, 2-10 Sunday every week, use to earn me £400 a month and still went out every weekend on the ****.

To clear things up, iv been looking for a 2 day a week job just like last year but i cant find anywhere what can accommodate my college. I am not taking out a bankloan...im taking out a small loan from SAAS. Probably something like 2-3k. Also im 20 in 84 days and currently doing hnc engineering systems.

also i cant use a push bike to travel 25 miles in this freezing cold weather ? i would rather use my motorbike as its only £5 a week on fuel.

Well, naturally jobs atm are hard to get anyway, but keep at it.

Fair enough, I wouldn't want to cycle 25 miles each day :p...But why do you need such a hefty loan?

You said about bus fares but then mention you have a motorbike as well, could you not just stick to the one mode of transport?
I'm sure a bus pass would work out cheaper rather than running a motorbike?

SAAS will give you a student loan, you'll probably be eligible for the maximum (£5300) but if your household income is around 22kpa as you say then some of this will be in bursary forms. Just get on the website and fill out the form, it takes 5 minutes.
