Been reminded just how tight my MX-5 is...

Just hired a Peugeot 307 for the weekend. It's lardy, the gearbox is lardy and the steering is lardy.

Sure, I can take up to 4 people and their kit with me now...

Actually, the 307 isn't that bad a car. I don't think I would like it as my main ride, despite the abundance of space.

It can be and can I please distribute a big pile of  to those who are trying to be clever - grow up as you aren't.

Back on topic, I used to have an MR2 and the missus an MX-5. Anyone with the mental capacity greater than that of an egg plant can realise that is nOT practical - our main monthly shop required both cars and me putting stuff under the bonnet!!! I loved both but ended up selling the '2 in favour of an accord exec - living together with two 2 seaters is NOT a good idea! :D

Nope I love my car. Drove my mums 205 for a while then when I got back into my car it felt so much better than the horrid 205.

As for space I have no issues for what I need.

monthly shop!!!!?

there is an easy solution here, just go shopping weekly, fit everything in 1 car, no problem.

That's really easy to do when you've got a missus who works shifts, you work 8.30 - 6pm without a lunch mon-fri and used to work 3 out of 4 saturday's, plus you're doing a degree AND have outside interests. Not to mention that you loathe the thought of even going into the supermarket!

Ok, we shop on-line now, but the practicality side is still an issue. I bought a computer chair from an office supply shop - that was fun getting it home in an MX-5!

Oh fine then... lets turn this into something worthwhile...

Does anyone else find owning a two seater to be awkward?

No, I find it a rip roaring wheeze with the T-bar off and Don Henley playing on those twisty country roads. :p

On the original post, I had a 306 TD and the gears were the same although the handling was very good. I think most Peugeots have less than desirable gear boxes.

I have always wondered about this, so many people on these forums have 2 seaters as their main or only cars, MX5's, Elises etc etc.

I would love such a car in terms of performance and handling, but im at a time in my life where when I go somewhere, I am usually with my mates, often more than one, and I dont think I could live with only two seats.

Plus it doubles as the family holidaymobile.

Not too sure as I've only ever driven two pugs but of the few cars I've driven since getting my 306 they all seem to be suffering from a touch of mushbox syndrome. Worst offender being my gf's Polo. Maybe mines just a good un ;)

I've never had any problems with my 2 seater, loads of room.
