Naughty web based company sent me a copy of GOW with this plastered all over the front. Surely they could get their bottom well and truely slapped for that?

Don't know if I can be bothered to send it back yet as I got it for a good price and if the choice is between a refund and keeping what I've got I'll keep the bundle copy for £18 and accept it'll be worth less when I come to sell it.

Just a tad annoyed as they are a big company that should know better imo.

It's up to you, but you won't be able to trade it in at a later date.
If that's something you'd probably do then you should seriously consider sending it back.
I normally sell them on ebay when I'm done with them. Probably knock a few quid off its value... but then again I did only pay £18 in the first place.

Think its worth an email as a "dissapointed regular customer" at least ;)

LOL, typical "large online retailer", I can't even find a contact email address on their website. I can find forms to return the game but I don't want to return the damn thing I want to have a whinge and get some money off vouchers ;)

Who would I go about reporting it to if I'm feeling vindictive? ;)

That wouldn't be gears of war from a certain jersey based company would it?
Correct. Seen my username on another forum having a whinge? :p

Seems a lot who got it for £18 have ended up with a bundle one.

Have you played it yet? At the end of the day if you got GoW for £18 I'd be happy
Not yet, didn't have time last night. Will have all evening free tonight though
Suck it up, you got it for a very good price and all you have to suffer is a yellow label across the box. If you make trouble for the company, they'll stop making the effort to bring you these cheap deals.....
Yeah I am being a bit of a whinger and I am chuffed with the price. I mean I only paid a pound more for a new copy of a fairly new top game than the price I was given for my used copy of TDU a couple of days ago.

On the other hand no matter what price I pay I expect to be sent exactly what I ordered. I ordered a retail copy of the game not a bundle copy. Its like the difference between the OEM copy of windows you get with a new new pc and the full retail copy. Same thing, different price tags.

So we're comparing bundle copies with pirated copies now? Excellent arguement, how farcical.

Either accept the fact (lordrobs) you got a bundle copy for £17.99 or send it back and buy the oh so different full retail copy for £30-40 from elsewhere.

(Bet you dont)
No need to get shirty about it. I've already stated in this thread that if its a straight out choice between keeping my current one for £18 or getting a refund I'd rather keep the game for a bargain tastic price.

As for if it stated whether it was a retail copy. No it didn't but it sure as hell didn't state that it was infact a copy not designed for resale or that it had this fact plastered across the front.

The point is that can retailers send out whatever they feel like and take the attitude of "well you got it cheap"? It also narks me that these huge companies are completely faceless. I can't write to the company concerned as they supply neither an email address of postal address on their website.

Customer Services number for the company involved (it is on the website but quite hidden): 0845 800 1020

Head Office Address:

Telephone:
Customer: 0845 800 1020.
Fax, 01223 295260.
Thanks for that.

I will write to them to say that whilst I thought it was a fantastic price they should have stated that the product was different to that shown. Which I think is fair.

Yeah id read about it on another forum, seems like most got the bundle version when they had it at 17.99 which is a bit cheeky.
Definetely give them a ring, the worst that could happen is that they apologise and you still get the game at 17.99, might end up giving you a voucher or something just so you keep your mouth shut lol :p
Apparently the retailers take on it is that Microsoft is fully aware that they are selling bundle copies and are fine with it. They can only offer a replacement and that will also have bundle copy only on it as thats all that they have

Thats third hand info though. Haven't had a chance to contact them myself.

The reason I thought it was odd is that they claim that if you were to order one now at £39.99 you'd get a bundle copy. Either bull or they deserve to be getting every last one returned at their expense IMO.
