we've actually been to lanzarote before and enjoyed it, however felt it made more sense to at least explore the idea of one of the other islands.

hoping to get some advice as to which is likely to be better for us.

will only be going for a week, and primarily looking for a hotel that's super close to the sea so we can essentially just relax for the week, so the hottest side of the island ideally, though we will likely do a park/tour if they have them

within that time we'd like to be close enough to towns that so we can have a casual day time stroll around the tourist shops, get lunch etc.

we mainly dont want to be around the youth/party goers if it can be avoided

i've looked at hotels at tenerife, and it seems playa de las americas is the party section?

i'm seeing some hotels that look good, but then they are a shuttle bus to the sea which isn't as ideal as we were hoping.

interested to see your suggestions.

Puerto de Mogan area of GC is nice. Maspalamas less so, quite British there.

I found playa de las americas a bit Benidormish. All karaoke, Sunday roasts and English breakfasts. Just what you want in 90 degrees

Gran Canaria has lots of lookie lookie men who I actually find quite amusing

My personal favourite Spanish island is Menorca. Some of it so quaint, especially the white village of Binibeca, that’s awesome to walk round. Very unique.

i went here. it was nice. windy though. preferred majorca though.

True about the wind to be fair. Nice little town isnt it. Has the "cheaper" bars / restaurants if you want them but it isnt like Benidorm cheap. Just dont go wandering down the beach like I did and well...saw a snake or two.

Second Menorca BUT it isnt a Canary island ;)

@Apex If you want a good mix then honestly take a look at Corralejo. Just google it and look at the images if you like a nice beach lol.
