My girlfriends laptop beeps only when the optical drive is in
Its not been well since orange juice was spilt on it

Any ideas..?

edit
It appears it loves to beep randomly, mostly with the cd drive in.
sometimes loading windows and sometimes not.. :(

ouch... the are two suggestions i have here:
1) If she has accidental damage cover, get it replaced.
2) If not, and I recommend this if, and only if, she can afford a replacement, you could strip the entire machine down and clean everything with isopropyl.

Honestly, should probably be thankful that it works at all!

Cheers for the info, might have to go for a clean since its pretty old!
I have read that continuous beeps are board failure or something
but also seen it could be keyboard being broken (have removed this, since it didn't work anyway)

yes it could be board failure, or keyboard, but it is far more likely to be liquid damage. In most cases it is not the actual liquid that causes the damage, but the conductive residue it leaves after evaporating shorting out components.

There are many types of beep code problems but mainly 1 long,2 short beeps indicates a video error has occured and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display and additional information and an other beeps mainly occured due to RAM problem.
