Anyone done beer can chicken on their BBQs? If so, what can of beer do you recommend? I've been waiting and waiting for the weather to get the grill out (went away for a while just when the hot weather hit!!) but I'm not sure what beer to use.
In the States they always seem to use Miller or Samuel Adams, though I'm not too sure what British beers equate to that. I can't imagine our lager would work - I don't particularly like drinking stuff like Carling and Carlsberg let alone putting it all over chicken - a draft or bitter might be a bit too darker flavour too.
Any ideas?

Just thought, I could just get a can of standard cheap lager and use it as a vessel - then buy some bottles of really nice German weiss beer or Leffe or something! Oh the opportunities!
