just browsing as one does and dropped my bottle of beer on the floor and the contents jumped out in slow motion and landed all over the laptop, i have wiped it clean, shaken it etc, think i have it all out.

anything else i should do ? dont think windows xp is drunk yet, nothing acting up. will it be ok or should i hit myself over the head with it for being stupid and careless!

Similar thing happened to my laptop accept it was Fanta. Take out the battery (and anything that can easily be removed) and leave in a dry place for a couple of days (DON'T TURN IT ON YET!) After that try turning it on, you might be lucky. With us it survived but 3-4 of the keys are really hard to press (inc , . @ ; which is where the drink spilt)

Just make sure its totally dry, and take it apart as much as you can to air it. You may be lucky and it`ll work perfect. Sticky key reponse if a problem once it get wet by drink or pop or wotever

Try stripping it down as much as you can and then using a hair dryer to give it a good warm through :) Leave it for a few days and do not switch it on until it has dried out thoroughly

You might want to try using a damp cloth to clean off as much as you can when it's drying, not sure but I doubt sugary dried beer will be too great for the components but if it's dry completely it should be fine.. if a little smelly for a while :D

Try crushing up a packet of crisps and/or peanuts and shoving them inside the case.

Soaks up the beer for me so should work for a laptop :p
