Why does cracking a beer can sound so much different to opening a can of coke?

Both cans, both have the same mechanism yet beer sounds so much nicer to the ears. Why?

Opening a guinness draught, and that reassuring gaseous release from the widget is a much better sound than any beer or coke opening sound.

This is so true!

I don't really want to go out tonight, I'd rather stay in with an 8 pack of beer and watch star wars trilogy. Does that make me sad? I'm going out though, I hate clubbing :( I do like tarts though. Hmm, better get out the scales and weigh up the options.

Surely one of the main reasons is that soft drinks like Coca-Cola are far more carbonated than a larger. While lager has a bit of a fizz to it, it's certainly not the tongue tingler that soft drinks are.

Cause after a hard days graft, what do you want to sit down with and chill? A can of coke or a crisp can of liquid metal? ;D
