Loving these entries!!

@Martynt74 , @MikeTheNative and I repeated our entries from round K, I have to admit I was hoping they wouldn't do that.
@Repta & @Russinating also repeat the same entry so Russinating's hopes played out there. I appreciated the music pairing.
@Sonea Fifer & @weringo also doing likewise.
Special mention to @Executive Beef for thinking outside the box, I was wondering if such a beer existed & also to @Feek to whom I awarded a generous bonus point for his reasoning.
@Ahleckz gets the 2 bonus points for his strong entry. Did you know about Meabh when you found it or was it luck?

Next round: R - Red ale (or ruby) - Self explanatory (28th August)

Bonus Points - 1pt for Weakest ABV (N/A beers will not count)

Ooooft! I managed to find a beer at half four. I was in a good booze shop, buying a bottle of ‘Honeybucket by Holy Goat’ as it had a bee on the label and I was going to claim it was a queen bee… as I was paying, and having spent 15 minutes looking at every beer they had, I asked “any chance you have a beer on with queen in the name?”. The shop worker next to the checkout guy had the bottle I bought in his hand. So complete luck.

I was going to play my Jester until @Sonea Fifer said he had a strong one and I bottled it.

It was £17… most expensive beer I’ve bought I reckon, yet to try it. I don’t really enjoy barrel aged beers…

Had to take a picture of it in the car on a fuel receipt (need to submit that to my employer so that’ll create some questions!) as I was very close to the deadline!

The bee would only have worked if it had a crown on. And the queen bee doesn't actually collect pollen/nectar so it would have been a peasant worker bee.
I read the name out to my missus, I can pronounce Meabh but wasn't sure on the Rua. Her instant response was "Queen Meabh?" I hadn't got to your 2nd pic at that point.
Rua is a translation of Marie apparently.

Well done @Ahleckz on sourcing a suitable beer in time - you even got the strongest one as well :)

I must admit I didn't think anyone would duplicate my entry @weringo - mine was purchased from a small brewery in Dundee.

As I recall it was about £8.00 or so which is about right given the abv bearing in mind we have minumum pricing up here on based on alcohol content :(

Taste wise it was very sweet and the berries really popped out in the flavour. It's not one I would buy again though, and not one I would recommend either to be quite honest:

Likewise!

I've been meaning try try Holy Goat since they opened earlier in the year as they specialise in my favourite style (sours) and one of the founders also co-founded Vault Cuty who are excellent.

The beer is a great example of the flanders red style and it was nice to try a style which rarefly pops up outside of Belgium.

Man if I’d known Queen related beers would’ve been allowed j almost bought one called Bohemian Raspberry but assumed it wouldn’t be allowed :(

This is why the theme was Queen and not THE Queen or A Queen. It was a subtle touch that I'm glad someone picked up on.
But it would depend on the artwork of the can/bottle as it would have to reference the greatest band ever in some way rather than just be a punny beer name.

@weringo
Oft! So, I reached out to a Glasgow Beer Facebook group I’m a member of asking if anyone had any leads and I specifically suggested this as an option.

Well, a friendly owner of a great beer bar did have a bottle available in his private stash but wasn’t able to get it in time for the competition. Since he’s looked it out for me I thought I’d still go and pick it up and got it this afternoon !

Good thing is, I got it for a price of a pint for him!

Glad I didn’t get it in time!

Wasn’t sure if this one would qualify, it’s only because it had the Freddie Mercury pose/jacket on that I went for it. Don’t think I would have picked up on the name alone for this round.

Picked it up a while back and have been looking for something else that’d qualify. Really struggles to find anything else at all. I’d call it desperation, but I’ll take thinking outside the box :)

Realised I missed off the bonus point criteria for next week, we're not having any more of that awful N/A beer being submitted, not that I think an N/A Red Ale actually exists as its an acquired to taste to begin with and not many breweries produce with them these days.
