I can use it for broadband and a printer that has wifi built in?

It may sound a silly question but i have usb wifi dongle on my pc its fine for my broadband but it wont connect to a wifi printer.

Your wifi printer is designed to connect to your router/access point, which would make it available on the network.

Think of the printer as a PC.

I see i didn't know how it works,So the usb wifi i have connected to my pc has nothing to do with connecting to the printer.

No it doesn't have anything to do with it. If you have a wireless priner, you connect that up to your router.

Even if your PC is wired to the router, it will still see the wireless printer once it has been connected to the router.

It becomes part of the network that your router has created. Any device that connects to your router can 'see' any other device on it*

*In most circumstances

Either check the manual or google "printer model + connect to wireless router"

Yep, exactly as above.

On your printer, there will be a menu to scan for wifi networks, connect to yours, put your wifi key in and it should connect. Exactly as you would with a laptop, phone or other wireless device.

Then, from your PC, as long as it's connected to the network (in whatever way with whatever wireless), then you should be able to see your printer. It'll probably be easiest to just install your printer using the software that came with it as that should find it on the network for you.

Cheers will do that,Simple when you ask:)

Its my daughters printer im trying to connect to as my own printer has had its day.
