i have a sound card / dvd drive monitor case etc its just the main bits im replacing.

Will this all play well together - im aware that for more money i can get better bits but this is my limit. also i dont plan to overclock.
my only worry is the ram will it be an issue i want 2gb not fussed if its the best ram ever just want it to be stable.

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) (MY-058-GL)

Considered this? On this week only and is pretty damn cheap, supposedly very quick too!

Personally I would get an E6300 and an X1900XT instead - think they would compliment each other better

Please note I have a E6300 from OCUK at the weekend which is easily clockable to 3.3GHz and to my mind that would make for a more balanced system, rather than a 1900GT which have been getting bad reports

An e6300 clocked to 3.3ghz would give better performance than a stock 6600 right? Do 6600's clock further then?
At 3.3 GHz it would be much faster. The 6600 has a higher multi and more cache so it clocks nicely and gives great performance.

SOSAGES2, you should go with the memory Emlyn_Dewar suggested. It should be very nice indeed.

Will a 400W psu cope with that system being overclocked (especially with a 1900XT dropped in)? Not saying it wouldn't just I'm not sure

For only 10 quid more than the x1900gt you could have the x1800xt, a far faster card.

To buy that kit and not overclock would be a bit silly. Without batting an eye you could tack on a half billion more cycles per second.

Stability is my main concern..

i will look at the ram thanks for the tip. :)

i picked the gfx card as id like a silent (ish) machine but im easy :)

so you think Connect3D ATI Radeon X1800 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - would be a better buy?

and once again thanks for all the help :)

I think the only way the X1900GT is going to be faster is in games such as Oblivion (I think, correct me if im wrong) or if you get lucky and you can unlock it.
