Hi, I use my pc for most games, but I always said, once mgs4 comes out I shall get my ps3. Now gta4 and mgs4 are out, uni is over so a few months of freedom.

few questions:

1) I was thinking of getting the mgs4 ps3 box. Does this come with the new Dual Shock 3 controller?

2) also I heard that the new ps3s aren't backwards compatible... :( only the 60 gig models which aren't out any more.

3) noise? My mates ps3 makes no noise at all. then 2 other mates of mine have ps3s and after half an hour, the ps3 makes so much noise, its like my 8800 @ 100%fanspeed. its so loud, cant even watch a bluray film ( and I am not exaggerating)

4) internet: Plug and play I assume?

5) anything else worth mentioning would be cool. thanks

edit: 6) will my mouse and keyboard work on it?

( no I am not getting a 360, mgs series are my favourite series of all time )

1) No
2) No, been the case for some time
3) Most reports seem to be that the ps3 is very quiet
4) Internet works fine :)

edit:

6) there are loadsa ps3 threads and articles on various gaming sites - why not take a look around and see what interests you?

Also, ds3 comes out with the 80gig model later this year - if you can wait then I would probably wait :)

1- No

2- Correct

3- Optical drive clicks lots but mine was really quiet apart from that

4- Yes, free online play

5- Wait for the 80GB DS3 pack in August.

cant wait. I waited way too long, and now I have the last holiday between 4 years of uni and a lifetime of work in my job. so I really want to enjoy this time.

the noise of the ps3 came from the fans, I thought their ps3s just got really dusty.

just a query, do your friends who have a noisy ps3 keep it in a cupboard or in a tight / enclosed space? I ask because when the fan does kick in it is loud, but the fan shouldn't kick in if the machine has even 'adequate' ventilation around it.
