Before i order

Should all work fine.

The RAM will likely default to 1333MHz (and 1.5V) when first installed, but you can raise it manually in the BIOS to stock speed/1.65V.

Even though the specific memory speed isn't listed, the board will run it at that speed. However, when you get overclocking you will be changing the BCLK, so you won't be hitting that specific speed anyway - just as long as you keep it at 1866MHz or below you will be fine.

ok kool, is there much point if the cpu fsb is 1333MHz would it not be less trouble letting it run matched? just paniced it might not like it as it wasnt listed as supported.

Na, it doesn't work like that. With nahalem based chips the "FSB" or BCLK is actually 133MHz stock - hence the default multiplier of 20 (for a 2.66GHz i7 920). Therefore I wouldn't suggest running it synced as it would be really slow.

Just try and run it as fast as you can that is within spec when using an elevated BCLK.

ok cheers, unfortuntaly OCUK cant match the prices i can get through work so will be ordering it today when we place our order, so hopfully something to play with at work if we are quiet. not planning on doing any form of OC on it as im pretty sure it will be plenty fast enough at stock, but will see if i can get the ram to run correctly. is there anything im missing, i have the case, antec psu, HDDs and optical drive from the current setup, along with the 9800GTX+ for now.

Looks good, you should have everything that you need. Just check that you are getting the retail CPU not the OEM one, as the retail comes with the stock cooler and more warranty.

However, I would plead you to get an aftermarket cooler. I admit the i7 is plenty fast at stock speeds, but a 50% (4GHz) overclock is just a £33 cooler away.

Socket: Socket 1366
Speed: 2.66GHZ
Packaging: Retail
Cache Size: 8MB
should be retail, pretty sure our supplier doesnt do oems.
yeah it does sound tempting, and at the moment it isnt going in a very nice case, but i dont want to upgrade that until a)i have enough money and b)i have all my hardware (gfx cards mainly) sorted so i get a suitable case to fit it all in, then as the mobo will be coming out i will do the HSF at the same time, but at the moment i would rather spend my budget on the best possible mobo/cpu/ram available rather than cutting back to fit in a cooler and regretting it. but it is definatly one for the future :D

cool, get it stable and running the way i like, then when i think its getting slow will be about the same time i will have the cash to do the gfx/case/hsf upgrades to OC and make it feel fast again, then by the time that feels slow, the i9 or whatever will probs be in my price range so another upgrade :)
