Beginner DSLR camera

Ok, so I want to take up basic photography , Im looking to buy a DSLR camera , I have a budget of £300 is this camera good ? or can someone reccomend another?

Yes this is a decent started and it will take you far

I've got a Nikon D60, which is fairly similar. I'm fairly happy with it, and unless D90s get very cheap I expect to be keeping it for while.

Limitations with the D3000 are that's it sensor was a generation behind the rest of the Nikon range. A D5000 or D3100 will perform better in low light. Also if you're using older nikon lenses they won't auto focus on the D3000 (or any entry level Nikon). Any Nikon lens with the letters AF-S is fine.

What are you planning to take photos of?

any feed back on that? will it perform well in low light also?
