Hi,

So the D3100 is going well, but my girlfriend has a tendency to occassionally be a bit rough with her posessions and the lens ALREADY had a small scratch.

I think we need a cheap filtter to protect the lens.

On reading a few threads I have seen that a number of people believe that a cheap filter will reduce quality.

Therefore I ask....

What is the cheapest filter, that will do the least damage to the quality and clarity of the photos?

Would really appreciate your advice, before further damage is done!

The camera is a D3100, with the standard lens.

Thank you,
R

52mm UV or protection filter. I have a Hoya HMC filter on my 18-55.

EDIT: Although on my 35 1.8 I'm making do without a filter and just leave the hood on.
