I am in the market for a TFT and I am looking at the two in the title because of their price. They seem to be the most inexpensive in their class. I would be interested to know which one people would prefer and for what reasons.

My decision will ultimately be based on performance, looks/build quality and other users advice. It will be used for a bit of everything; gaming, multimedia applications, internet, office applications.

Advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys. I have seen the belinea up close and I quite like how it looks. The viewsonic also looks nice but I haven't seen it in the flesh so I am going by the picture on Overclockers (haven't bothered looking it up elsewhere yet). GhostRider or W3bbo, any chance of some pics?

I am upgrading from a 6 year old CRT so I think whichever one I go for is going to look great in comparison and it will be nice to finally be able to push my desk flush against the wall!

Does the Viewsonic have that shiny reflective surface that you see on some of the new laptops these days. It's something that I wouldn't want.

The NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 20.1" looks good and gets great reviews but its another £100+. One thing about the belinea that bothered me slightly when I saw my friends was that it didn't look very easy to get the DVI cable in and once it was in, it looked kind of skewed with pressure being put on it slightly.

Do both these monitors come with DVI cables?

I have just purchased the Viewsonic VX2025 and it should be winging its way to my house shortly (went for the Saturday next day delivery option). I decided on the Viewsonic over the Belinea because of what users have said in this thread and from a looks and build quality stand point. I am rather loath to parting with money and I have ooohed and ahhhed about getting a new monitor for months now so fingers crossed that I have made the right decision. I will try and post some pics when it arrives.

Incidently I also ordered a new mouse (logitech G7) and keyboard (Saitek PZ30AU), a 500gb western digital external hard drive and two Icy Box External HDD Enclosure's. In the end the order came to £672.87 delivered

Thank you for everyones advice with the monitors, it is greatly appreciated.

My new Viewsonic VX2025

My new monitor arrived Saturday morning as promised. I ordered it on Friday and am very happy with the service from Overclockers, exactly as it should be.

I have been using the monitor for 4 days now and I am very happy with it. I haven't made any adjustments to the settings apart from turning the brightness down slightly. There are no dead pixels from what I can see. The backlight bleed is there in the corners but is only on noticeable on black screens if you look hard. I think I have noticed some verticle banding on some colours but again it's hardly noticeable. I love how the monitor looks and the cable management design at the back is really good. Have tried out a few games and different applications and the extra space that the widescreen offers is proving to be very handy, I definately prefer the widescreens now and wouldn't go back. Using a TFT definately feels different to using a CRT but I am already getting used to it.

All in all I am very happy with my purchase and I would recomend this same monitor to others, its an absolute bargain for the price. Here are a few pictures...

I personally like how both monitors look and in the end it was a difficult choice to make between the two. I guess it just comes down to personal preference as they both use the same panel, have the same specs and are the same price.

I noticed that another thread recently started about Viewsonic releasing a 22" widescreen that will have a slightly faster response time and only cost about £50 more. At first I was a little disapointed but after reading the thread it doesn't sound quite as promising and I dont think much of the design.
