Hi guys, I have a Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO Modem Router ( http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=272220) and for some reason, it disconnects at random times.

It might disconnect twice in an hour, it might disconnect once in a week, the point is it keeps doing it.

I only configured it using the Wizard that you can access when you connect to 192.168.2.1 , does anyone have any ideas how i can fix this problem because it is very fustrating

Can you post your line stats?

Also, are you on fixed-rate or MaxDSL? You say the disconnects are random but is there are a common time period when it happens, like in the mornings, evenings or nights? Also, have you ever used a different model router with success or is this a newly activated line?

I've not used that particular model router but my mother has a Belkin router and that seems to hold the connection a lot better than the previous Netgear did.

How should I do that? if you can't already tell, i haven't a clue about this stuff.

I'm on Tiscali 2mb Broadband, this is my first router, before I was using a standard ADSL modem and that never disconnected.

Not sure about your particular model but with the Belkin I have access to, you see it as soon as you connect to the router from a browser - it's under the ADSL heading and the information listed will be data rate, noise margin and attenuation for both downstream and upstream.

i checked on the Belkin website what settings I should have for Tiscali and the ones they listed I have already been using

We had 2 Belkin routers prior to this D-Link one. Both terrible pieces of ****, used to drop the connection approximately once every 20 minutes to an hour, and only reaquire after power cycling. Which you could only do by pulling the cable. Just awful. It seems to be a Belkin feature, I've heard the same or similiar about various different models.

Our Belkin router in our student house here seems OK-ish (that's not saying much) on the actual telephone line side of things, but the wireless is utter rubbish. So glad I have my PC and don't have to use my Dell notebook all the time, because the router seems to love dropping the wi-fi on that one, then make it impossible for me to connect properly again until I reset the router.

Utter rubbish. Wish we had a Netgear.
