Evening guys,

Can anyone tell me if the Belkin Wireless G+ router (Model: F5D7231 UK 4) will be any good with the 20Mb Virgin Media internet connection.

When I say good, I mean will it give me full 2.2Mb/s download and not 'Are Belkin any good' ;)

Agreed. We had a Belkin router in our student house until a few months ago, and it was awful. Glad to be rid of the thing.
 
Cant recommend Belkin at all. Once I got a belkin range extender which didnt work with their own routers.. Amongst other things of course
 
dont do it 5 hours it took me yesterday to set a friends up and the guy in a certain shop said it was quick and easy
 
Belkin gear is very simple to set up ,don't know what you guys were doing ,anyway here's my opinion I have used a 9630uk Belkin model G+ MIMO on BE ISP in the pass as both a modem and router which was rock solid(anybody that has used BE ISP knows only certain modems will work),also using Belkin N1 router for my Virgin Media at present (Cable connection) again rock solid on my Vista x64.

Never had any problems with Belkin gear.You can't beat lifetime warranty :).

Btw I can't comment on the 7231 model(no experience with that one) I recommend the N1 router they have which works great with Virgin Media cable.

I presume you are on cable not their ADSL?

I have this one, and it works well and quickly. It doesn't have all the options I'd like, as I'm very much into fiddling with settings to enable me to do things/not do things etc. but it works well enough for the moment on my Virgin Cable BB.

Anyway, finally called Belkin and they say the V1 & V2 will do 20Mb fine.

Yes I know they aint the best, but if it ain't broke and all that......

Thanks for the comments Elevon & InvaderGIR, the router was easy to get going, all happy now.

I truly hated this router, a total waste of my money.

Yes its easy to setup/install but you can't torrent with it at all, the NAT tables fill up way too quick and kill your internet connection after an hour or so of downloading.

If you plan on torrenting heavily, get shot of it ASAP
