Guys,

My car is off the road for the moment for repairs but does not have an MOT nor tax until this is done.

Am I covered to drive others car's using my DOC cover whilst this is the case?

I've been on hold to Bell for my entire lunch break yesterday without them picking up and don't fancy doing the same today :( Can't find anything conclusive in the T&C's but I may have missed something.

Regards

Why would you DOC cover change whatsoever regardless of the circumstances with your car? You're paying for insurance with DOC so surely you can just use DOC regardless of if your car is on the road or not?

Just wondered whether my whole insurance would be invalid due to the car being untaxed and not MOT'd ?

It's a reasonable assumption based on the fact that insurance companies screw you over at every available opportunity, but it doesn't void your policy so long as it's not being driven and is kept on private land. ie, you would still be paid if it was vandalised or stolen. Your whole policy remains valid so long as you don't do anything illegal which, with DOC cover, you aren't.

Thanks. :)

Seem to remember that with Elephant's DOC cover the main car had to be driveable or you where not covered, so might be worth digging a little deaper

The exact wording on this policy is:

'You still have your car and it has not been damaged beyond repair, stolen nor sold'.
