Benchmark Request: 64 Player BF1 W 1070 & 6700k/6800k

I'm being very heavily bottlenecked by my 2500k @ 4.8Ghz in BF1 coupled with a 1070. While the game can run at a smooth 120fps, it's very prone to chugging when the CPU load gets particularly intensive.

The CPU is constantly maxed out on every core while playing the game, while the GPU usage will sit anywhere between 40-85%.

So is anybody aware of any benchmarks using a 1070 comparing a 2500k to a 6700k / 6800k? If I were to upgrade they would likely be my two options (that or waiting longer) but I don't know if it is worth it. I have had a look for such comparison benchmarks but haven't managed to find anything.

Alternatively does anybody run such a setup themselves (1070 coupled with a 6700k / 6800k) and play 64 player BF1 multiplayer? If so how is the performance?

I don’t have a NV GPU but have a 5930k and the game runs very smooth, even in the most intense fights @1440p. I have not run the bench and don’t overclock but I did leave real temp running to test how hot the CPU gets when playing. It only gets to 40c, handbrake gets it to 100% and max temp is 58c so it’s not maxing the CPU out. A 6800K should be a little better as they have a higher clock speed. I would not get a 6700K at this point, especially for BF1.

they may patch in some stuff to help older i5s in bf1.though ideally you want a modern i7.

some will say you wont.benchmarked it with many people seen the fps figures.if you dont want the drops in minimums at the moment you need a i7.

fps on my oc 5820k on scar 64 man in rain 157, 202, 182.983 quite close every map regardless of whats going off.

go play big game get in action do a fraps 60 benchmark do min max and avg fps.do it 3 times then look at your minimums.

It would be interesting to here from AMD owners with FX CPU's how they get on with this game.

All these are at stock speed.

Fx-6100 - disaster, drops to high 20's sometimes in big maps.

FX-6300 - better, playable, but still unreliable with sharp drops.

Haven't had a chance to properly try out my 9370.

Also want to bench it on 1st gen i5's and i7's sometime this week just to see how it runs (not expecting much ,esp not from i5-750).

From Ivy Bridge:

i5-2500 - runs very well, when stuff gets really hectic on Quentin Scar it can hit late 40's at times but overall fairly good.

i7-2600 - runs perfectly at 60fps.

^ any overclocks on the above? Would imagine it makes quite a big difference on those FX.

No, probably won't as I only have the stock cooler on them unfortunately.

I have a 9370 as well but at the moment need a watercooler for it - have an air-cooler on it which works OK generally but in a game like BF1 it doesn't hold up.

as with anything " fine " is a broad range.

bench mark as i have posted many times with fraps or other software 60 run on 64 man game of scar in middle of action

do this 3 times post results min max avg fps.

then you will see you need a modern i7 for a decent experience.the thing is peoples it plays if fine differs.

60 hz monitor to 144hz massive difference for eg.

i wouldnt play bf1 on less than a modern i5 but that doesnt mean someone else will not enjoy it on lower spec.

From my personal experience is as per BF4.

For 120hz/144hz 1080p multiplayers, there is a big jump in minimum frame-rate perf. going from a Sandy [email protected] with 2133DDR3 to a [email protected] running 3700DDR4. That's on a 980ti running 1400mhz which is in the same ball-park as a 1070.
