Now I know some of you GPU fanboys want to do this for me. Yes i'm looking at you Greebo's and Kaapstads ;)

I'm thinking of somone defo has the SLI 1080s in place and either a 980Ti or Titan left over from the old build... Any chance you can test to compare with/without using the 980ti/Titan as dedicated Physx? I know its overkill but i've got a pair of 1080s on order and wondering if I should hang on to my 980ti or sell it... I'd test it myself but i'm in the FTWhenisitcoming queue.

You know you wanna... Be good to know for people looking at selling up the old.

Having a 980Ti in there purely for PhysX is madness.

Yes but if you happen to already have one in your loop and the price isn't amazing to sell it... I'm merely asking for the numbers, madness is subjective if you have the kit then why not use it. It's a pretty future proof setup if you ask me.

Not really no. Managed to get £350 for my Ti little over a week ago.

If you've got two air cooled 1080's with an air cooled 980Ti wedged in the middle then the temps are going to suffer especially with AIB coolers.

I'd be interested though as I've still got a Ti left over I'm about to sell.

Do you have some titles in mind? Do not have any spare Titan X's any more, but a trio of 1080's and can test some titles. Thus far in titles I have mainly been playing there has been no difference Witcher 3, Skyrim, Dragon Age Inquisition etc. Biggest Jump I have seen is with Arkham knight when setting a dedicated PhysX card, but as the second card does not work in SLI mode with that titles anyways, kind of a moot point.

Being honest, I would probably dump the 980Ti.

No title in particular more Physx heavy titles so would include Arkham, borderlands on ultra physx maybe. All I've seen is people trying to use a crap old GPU and the results suggest that in newer titles it actually hinders SLI frame rates. Its widely speculated that is because the older GPU simply can't keep pace with the newer so i'm curious to put some facts to it.

I've got a full custom loop so i'll have 3 watercooled cards and heat isnt an issue. £350 doesn't bother me if it helps my performance to keep it.
