Benchmarking 3960X against latest gen CPUs

Has anyone ran a benchmark comparison between a TR3960X with it's 24 cores against the latest generations of CPUs, particularly in relation to productivity tasks around multimedia.

Also any thoughts on if it worth upgrading to a 3970X for an extra 8 cores seeing as how they are starting to drop in prices, or even, heaven forbid a 3990X with 64 cores ( still very pricey )

Appreciate the info and your thoughts. Makes sense, too much hassle and £1200 for 8 cores is a bit steep. Not sure how much you could recoup from selling the 3960.

An extra 40 cores though..... I'm guessing the 3990s will drop when next gen TR comes out.

Time will tell
