Evening all, I'm in the process of a thougrough evaluation of 3 budget laptops to run XP/Vista for the next 3 years. I need to evaluate performance of them using a good solid benchmarking app or more than one which is more likely.

It is a council I work for and will need to try and benchmark real world apps such as office apps, which I know can be done but does anyone know of any software that runs scripts / macros on office and times it etc...

I'm thinking along the lines of sisoft sandra, pcmark, superpi so far but any other suggestions. We dont mind purchasing a product. But ideally it needs to be compat with xp and vista so we have a good baseline tool, to compare and use for future benchmarks also.

Any info and app suggestions appreciated. The MS Office Benchmark or real world apps test is the main thing the Management will be interested even though it doesnt matter to me personally that much. Maybe something that tests load times etc.

I must mention that these are budget laptops and will be used in purely a corporate office sense, so nothing like 3dmark will be used. But basic graphics tests will be ok.

Thanks

Indeed I already had those in mind, I just wanted to find other apps in the area mentioned, thanks though
