I'd like run a benchmark program on my system (see sig) simply to make sure that everything is running as it should.

Im total newb though and i'm wondering which program is the best (3dmark 2006?) and what a good result would be for my spec.

Also, do i need to benchmark each component of my system or will 3dmark (or something) test everything?

Lastly, is there any kind of benchmark tool to test the performance of Vista? So i can make sure every loads as fast as it ought to?

Cheers.

Yes, 3dmark06 would be a good benchmark. It tests graphics and cpu mainly. It is a good benchmark, and you can compare it to other scores on the ORB website, when you submit your score.

Run the benchmark and submit it here. Someone with a similar setup to yours will know if it's about right or not.

Thanks.

Just one other thing quickly. I've downloaded Speedfan to keep tabs on my CPU temp and its reading 'Temp1 47C'. Assuming thats my CPU it seems a little high given that I hadn't been stressing the system at all (just web browsing and such).
