hi all just wandering i just had an upgrade for my pc i hacve an intel core duo e6300 a gigabyte 965p ds3 m/b 1 gig low latency ram and a bfg geforce 8800 gts

i have heard tha people are getting scores of around 10000 or more on 3d mark 06 but i just ran the benchmark and only got a score of 7500 is there something i have not done or is this a normal score for this card the test was done with the default settins at 1280 / 1024 cheers for any comments

Ram shouldn't be much of an issue, many top end benchmarkers were still using 512MB on 3d05, haven't really followed 06 though, might be different.

I imagine most of the scores you looked at were overclocked systems.

I'm not sure on this as I am certainly no expert in this field (or any field come to think of it, meh), but from looking at other benchmarks online it seems to me that Processor speed plays a large role.

I've seen thousands of marks difference between 8800's with a 6300 in comparison to with a 6700 etc.

As I say though, I'm not sure. Just an observation.

Is your E6300 overclocked or running at stock speeds?

If it's @ stock speeds, then you'd probably get a good performance boost with a new CPU cooler and a bit of an overclock :)

k lads cheers will try an overclock have heard the stock fan is ok for overclock will try it a little at a time i think
