Benchmarks for AT HD 5870

same here - £250/£270 for a 5870 is just about the limit for me to - since my 8800gt would get about 35p now if i sold it!!!

actually i think if you sold it now you could get around 40-50 quid

We'll all know for certain in a few weeks when the independent sites get hold of cards for reviewing

Can't help but be interested though...if the scores are good and the price is right, might replace my 4870 512mb

haha. well thats true! thats why ive never even looked at nvidea for years. there prices went crasy. ati has always been the affordable performance solution for me!

I'm expecting/hoping around 270ish for the lowest 5870 like the HIS etc.

Since the HD 2900 XT was at 399 USD. I'm expecting similar pricing for the UK.

It seems really stupid though, that more benchmarks are not leaked. The cards are obviously amazing, and little leaks in the performance of the cards, would help ATI in the build upto the launch.

If we got to the launch date with no real benchmarks and confirmed prices, then no one will rush out and buy them(well not many).

Smart move would be to leak prices & performance, so people could save up and know what they will cost & perform like since they are so good. Not like they will flop, holding back all this information, will only have a negative affect on ATI.

Hasn't the price been out for ages? Loads of different sites have reported $399 for the 5870 so with vat ~£280

looking at those benchmarks its all over the place, also looking the 5870 vs 295 its worst than or equal in: cod4, l4d, crysis, farcry2, LP Colonies so these will need to be improved with alpha drivers.

looking at the 5850 vs 285 im very very impressed. nearly 200% increase on riddick but only looses out on cod:waw and wolfenstein MP. so kinda mixed results especially for the 5870. However im still going for the 5870!
