Benchmarks for AT HD 5870

The 5870 performs very nicely at 2560x1600, no real surprise though. Just hope they can apply the AA effectively in game, an area where nvidia are better imo.

Is that really true?

That seems pretty amazing to me, slightly disappointing, i honestly didn't know.

What average FPS would one need to run a game smooth, would the average gamer notice difference between 60fps and 100?
 
Not sure about these cards, was looking at benchmarks of 4870x2 and 4870 crossfire and they are very inconsistent and sometimes only just beating or on par with the GTX 280? i thought the 4870 on it's own was just as good as the 280..

ah well
 
If those specs are true that is very impressive, does anybody know if that is the 2 gig version or 1 gig used in those benchmarks? As by my understanding the 2 gig one is an OC version of the 1 gig with more memory. Anybody got any news on 5850 as that's more than likely all i'm going to be able to afford?
