So i have had my x99 setup for a while now, just got a new case so have taken everything apart to rebuild into new case. Thing is I noticed that the metal CPU cooler mounting is bending from the force of the retention mechanism of the processor. Has anyone else experienced this?
To start with i thought it was the very heavy air cooler (DH-D15) on the socket but the corner which bends is one which the cooler would sit into (mavity assisted lower one). I then removed the cooler and realised it was pressure from the CPU retention lever bending the socket and lifting one corner approx 2-3mm from the surface of the motherboard.
