Title sounds a bit presumptious (sp?) i know lol.

I left college in July and went onto Job Seekers Allowance which gave me £45 a week which paid my mum for rent.

2 months ago i got a job and because it was less than 16 hours, i could claim still but now they've decided that i earn too much and won't give me any more money.

I earn £3536 a year annual basic, which is a whopping £68 a week, and apparantly that's too much.

So minus the rent that i give my mum from that and i'm left with about £20 for my weeks work.

So i'm pretty much stuffed in that matter, and it seems i was better off not working (and they wonder why so many people don't want to work)

I was told that i should be able to claim housing benefit.

WRONG, because i live with my parents who are on income support and incapacity benefit anyway because my dad is disabled.

So is there anything i can claim to help pay my rent, because at this rate i should just go back on JSA, i was better off in a way and had no work to do for peanuts.

Please guide me :(

I really do wonder why life is all about sometimes :(

No offence, but I'll get the standard reply out of the way for you now.

Why the hell don't you have a proper job and start earning money?

Took me long enough to find this job and i love the job.

I started looking for work as soon as i left college in July and i only got this job 2 months ago (my first interview since i left college)

If it was easy to find a full time job in my area i would.

I've asked my boss about more hours and guess time will tell with that.

Tbh, to a lot of people its guna sound like your family's living off the state as it is, get a full time job, even if you dont like the work, stacking chelves or punching in numbers onto a computer, whats your current job that you like so much?

Exactly, i mean, are you disabled in anyway? is there somthing preventing you from working?

I work at The Link and i do love what i do.

I do -

Monday - 5-8
Tuesday - 5-8
Friday - 4-8
Sunday - 10-4

I asked yesterday for more hours as that is all they gave me when i s tarted, so i will see what they have come up with today.

I have to help my mum a lot hence why i'm not working full time.

If they offered me more hours, i would take it for sure.

Also, for the people who think i didn't look for a job.

I did, for months and only got this through my brother's friend.

Were the jobs you looked for just in the retail sector? Or was it everything?

I looked at jobs in Retail, in support (1st hand and more).

I even looked at jobs in warehouses but it was only night work, meaning i would have to sleep during the day and would not be able to help my mum.

I was sending off at least 6 cv's a week and ringing companies.

All the support jobs wanted experience which i have none.

Everyone in my college class are all in dead in jobs so college was a waste of time.

As i say, i love my job at the link and i guess more hours and show i can sell is going to get me more money and comission.
