Benitez unleashes on Ferguson

you can't say whether it works or not, however it is used by a lot of managers and as is illustrated here it does often provoke a reaction and response. I only commented on that as in your original quote i didn't spot anything that said it was opinion on your part rather than -as benitez would put it- you talking facts. which makes it kind of hard to argue against ;) though you are right that benitez was responding to comments made by ferguson about the fixture list. mind you he complained himself a season or so ago so i don'r know what he was on about saying that they didn't complain.

Just because it provokes a reaction that doens't mean it has any effect on what happens on the pitch. I personally seriously doubt that it does.

And Benitez didn't complain about the fixture list, he simply asked why we played Saturday lunch time after every international break ;)

Benitez you legend! Gotta admit it was hilarious! It spices up the title race which is no bad thing. I dont think it will really have an effect on where the title ends up...and he has probably done it in mind of the chelsea / Man utd game this weekend, to just stir things up for that match as it is such a big game and tempers will be raging...maybe he's hoping for a sending off or something.

I like the fact that fans of other teams only see utd players surrounding officals and that their teams never do it and never have :)

I think Sir Alex will not mention Rafas comments after sunday's game but wait a week or two

Read the whole post next time.

I did. That's what you think, I disagree ;)

As hard as it may be to believe, just because i think something that doesn't make it right dan ;)

Did Blackburn win the League because Fergie's comments about their 'bottle' backfired or because Blackburn were the better side that season? Did Newcastle throw the title away because of Fergie's comments or because they can't defend? And whoever wins the league this year, imo it wouldn't be down to what's been said off the pitch, but that's not to say managers aren't trying to gain some sort of advantage with their nonsense off the pitch.

I'm with you on that though, I think it all makes very little difference when it comes to the end of the season.

I think it's more about unsettling the teams ahead of the game on Sunday.

Both sets of players will be giggling so much at that speech that they will forget to play and end in a draw. Job done Rafa :)
