Don't have an iPad to hand, but I just tried charging my Galaxy Tab 7.7 from the BenQ and it does charge, but rather slowly - the tablet actually says 'not charging' but it is, just not very quickly.
This is the same behaviour I get with the tablet directly connected to one of my PC's USB 3 ports, which is not much of a surprise as the USB ports on the BenQ seem to simply pass through power from the PC's USB port (monitor ports don't have any power when the PC USB lead is disconnected) so how many amps they're putting out is down to the PC. Some only supply the standard 900ma over USB 3, but some others can put out 1500ma.
