Both of them are pretty much identical, similarly priced.

BenQ usually have better QC of their monitors before sending them out.

If you want to mount them on a wall or another stand, I think both will need special adapters (bought seperately) to mount them, BenQ sells theirs on their website, not sure where else you can get them from.

I probably wont wall mount so that should be fine.

I am really conflicted on what to get its one of the above, a cheaper 34" non curved 75hz samsung or a panasonic 40" tv to use as monitor. Its my xmas present so need to be hasty

It depends on what you want to use the monitors for.

For gaming I'd recommend the first two monitors you mentioned as they are both 100hz displays.

75hz isn't bad either but it's not great, but if you prefer a flat panel over curved, then I guess that's the one to get.

I personally wouldn't use a TV as a monitor, unless it's an OLED or something. Their response times are usually very slow for any high fps gaming.
 
I got, or should I say Santa through my gf will get me the S34J550WQU. I know its not the same class as the monitors I mentioned on the title but its cheaper and if I dont like ultra wide it will not hurt as much. I read also it can overclock to 90-95hz so fingers crossed.

I have a 4k 58inch tv for my 4k needs in the livingroom so I will get a long cable and plug pc there for when I want to game in 4k and the rest will be on sammy. I probably should have waited for the new monitors from AOC to come but I needed an xmas pressie :p
