Hi

I have been using my BenQ FP241W through component on my xbox 360 set at 1080p for over a month now, and today i went into the benq menu settings and saw that the screen was set to full and not 1:1??

Then i set it to 1:1 pixel mapping and i got the black borders across the top and bottom of the screen

Is this normal , as i thought 1:1 filled the whole screen:(

Does this mean its has the old firmware

yes it has the old firmware. u can set it to aspect mode and that will give u true 1080p with no stretching i.e black bars on top and bottom only

Using 1:1 should result in a 60 pixel border at the top and bottom of the screen so from your description it is displaying correctly. Using aspect should result in exactly the same image as 1:1 due to the horizontal resolution output from the 360 at 1080p being the same as the native resolution of the monitor.

Full mode stretches the image to fill the screen ignoring the aspect ratio.

Thanks 4 your replys :)

Gavinpoo your quite right ! i do get the same results using aspect mode;)

Well i bought my screen only 2 months ago from ocuk so it must have the 1:1 firmware fix:)

Anyhow thanks re-assuring me that its quite normal with the borders at the top and bottom;)

Being able to have the borders is definitely a good thing - you get the best image quality that way as the picture is not being stretched by the monitor at all.
