hey guys just ordered one of these beauties and looking for some tips i heard this thing comes with a driver should i even install it and what does it do?

also ive no idea how to calibrate this thing and any tips u guys have on getting the best from this screen id really appreciate it.aka the best and easiest software to use. ive heard of this spyder express with the cool sensor thing thats the kind of accuracy id prefer.

my old crt looks terrible i didnt know weither to touch the nvdia settings or just the monitor ones.i will be running this with a 8800 gtx so if any of u colour pros wanna share some profiles that would be good too!

im also interested in how u tell if the model u get has the 1:1 fix? without testing on a 1080p source meaning some kinda service menu how do i see the revision?

neways u other lucky owners share some tips :)

it still will only do 1:1 via dvi apparantly hdmi and other inputs have overscan even with the latest march firmware with 1:1

personally i dont mind as i wont be using a crapbox 360 :P

anything i want to do like link up a blu-ray drive will be done via a hdmi>dvi cable as i said the dvi works flawless

as for calibration where to start? :)

pretty much mate i think its more for linking in a ps3 and keeping your pc going and just switching between them for handyness sake.

u went for the non z tho? tbh the dell 2407 wont do 1080p hdcp this one does and is only 430 quid. so there isnt much choice apart from the lg.no idea on how its 1:1 mapping fairs but 100% from the benq using dvi is perfect for 1:1 1080p going by forum posts.

i read through most of the hardforums horror posts and its pretty grim.

hdmi seems to take the picture and screw it over twice via cropping and still not do 1:1 and all they did was release some sneaky firmware to hide this fact but they got busted.

overall tho i will only be using this for linking to hdmi via the dvi anything worth its salt now or in the future will use hdmi and i wont ever buy an xbox or wii so it doesnt affect me.
